The Batch
The Batch at Camp Awaiti is a newly renovated Civil War era 2-bedroom farm-house. It was the original structure on the property and retains the charm of its antique features mixed with meticulously curated contemporary amenities and appliances.
Guests access The Batch via their own private entrance from a sunny veranda to be greeted by a fully stacked kitchen and dining space. This room is filled with everything a cook would wish for at the end of a long day’s hiking or skiing: a Jenn-Air fan assisted oven, a brand new Summit refrigerator / freezer, Smeg toaster, microwave and pots, pans and utensils of varying dimensions, sizes and purpose. The kitchen also includes a small Bosch washing machine and Bosch dryer. The bright and comfortable lounge is accessed through a doorway from the kitchen.
Two large bedrooms await upstairs, each with its own desk for those who need to put in a little time working. (The wi-fi is fast and stable, by the way, so remote working is not an issue).
Between the bedrooms is a freshly renovated and very charming bathroom.

Like the name Awaiti, the name ‘The Batch’ also has a New Zealand provenance. A Batch is a small holiday home, filled with joyful memories, often located by the sea or in the forest, and usually kept in family ownership for generations.
